I definitely have a planner clip addiction but that is not the problem. The problem I have is neatly storing them so they don’t get lost or ruined. I needed a storage system that is easy to use and takes up little space. I have a tiny desk in the corner of my kitchen so I can’t ever get too crazy.
I started with this cute tea cup from a thrift store but it didn’t make the best use of space and my collection quickly outgrew it. I decided to make a new organizer out of items I already had.
A few months ago Ashley and I took a trip to the Goodwill across the street from our favorite planner meetup spot. I saw this clear case for 3×5 cards and picked it up on a whim because it was only 99 cents. Any small box or index file could work, even a pencil case.
I knew there must be a way to get my planner clips organized inside this case. I decided the best way would be to put them on a sturdy base so they could be stood up. I put my excessive collection of Project Life cards to work, they are the perfect thickness to provide support. I cut the cards in half to leave enough room for the tall clips.
I slipped my clips in a row at the top and it created a mini file cabinet. For extra tall clips, you can place them tilted to an angle on the card. I put my tassel clip to the back of the file for better viewing.
